Chris McCausland has announced Waffle, a new stand-up tour of the UK and Ireland that runs from autumn 2027 into the spring of 2028. Tickets went on sale at 11am on 6 November 2026, according to his official website.

Chortle, which reported the tour on 6 November 2026, said around 120 dates had been announced so far. The tour page on his website lists the run opening at Dorking Halls on 2 October 2027 and closing at the Skegness Embassy on 28 May 2028, although the same page says the tour begins in September 2027.

A long route through theatres and halls

The route mixes big city venues with seaside and market towns. Listed dates include The Lowry in Salford on 14 October 2027, 3Olympia in Dublin on 5 December 2027, the Waterfront Hall in Belfast on 6 December 2027, the Hackney Empire in London on 4 February 2028, the Liverpool Empire on 20 February 2028 and Birmingham Symphony Hall on 11 March 2028. There are two nights at the Southport Comedy Festival on 12 and 13 October 2027, and a show at the Villa Marina on the Isle of Man on 21 February 2028.

Not every date was on sale on the first day. The tour page marked several shows, including Dublin, Belfast, Leeds Grand Theatre and the Edinburgh Festival Theatre, as ‘on sale soon’.

McCausland made a joke of the timing in his announcement.

I'll be starting this tour three months after turning 50, so if I was you, I'd get your tickets early to avoid having to stare at the top of my balding head from up in the gods for the duration of the show.

After Yonks and Strictly

Waffle follows Yonks, his previous tour, which Chortle says sold more than 350,000 tickets in the UK, helped by his success on the 2024 series of Strictly Come Dancing. He is also due to host the very last Christmas episode of Live at the Apollo, which Chortle says will air later in 2026, and he presents a programme on Absolute Radio every Sunday morning.

His own YouTube channel carries his earlier Live at the Apollo set.

What it means for acts

For an act whose profile has grown through television, McCausland's plan is worth studying: dates went on sale almost 11 months before the first show, and the run then continues for eight months. The route spreads demand across dozens of towns and cities rather than relying on a handful of arena nights. Managers should also note that not every venue has to be ready on announcement day; dates marked ‘on sale soon’ give the tour further moments to promote.
